The Notion behind The Box Score was simple, almost sentimental—to tell stories and resurrect the old high school box scores of yesteryears, those quiet little monuments to competition and community. We tinkered a bit, borrowing information and scores from nearby colleges, just to see what some of the pages might look like. Turns out there was also some interest in these offerings. But with only Nathan and me covering college and high school, it was more than we could do. Each local college carries its own bright digital banner - Box scores, schedules, photographs, and live streams presented in an easy-to-use package. The trouble lies not in the content but in getting to it; one can fiddle a minute trying to find the page you're looking for. So, we gathered them all here on a single page. Click any icon, and you'll find yourself on that school's men's basketball page, a small but direct window into their world. And yes, we confess a certain Freed-Hardeman bias - Nathan and my father both walked its halls, and my daughter walks them now - this makes it all the more fitting that we let Grantland's Ghost focus on the local high school games. We hope these links help you find your way through the season's stories. (Only negative, you won't find Madry on their pages, lol) Thank you for stopping by—and God Bless!

Firehawks Unfold the Season in Grace and Motion
UT Southern opened its season with an even, confident performance, turning back Fisk 87-76. De'Marreon Baldwin led the Firehawks with 17 points, his game marked by calm precision. Daniel Rayes added 13, and Bell Jr. and Cochran each contributed 9 in a balanced attack that never hurried yet seldom faltered. Fisk stayed close behind the effort of Kaleb Jeffries, who scored 19 in a losing effort. By the final minutes, UT Southern had settled in, and it was a clean business-like win, a kind of beginning a team can really build on to start the season.

Freed Opens Season with Win at Oakwood!
Saturday October 25, 2025 -Huntsville, Ala
In the crisp breath of an October evening, basketball season arrived for Freed-Hardeman, and the Lions roared into form-swift, sure, and splendidly united. Their attack, as rhythmic as a song and as relentless as the tide, rolled through Oakwood to the tune of a 76-55 triumph. Sam Powell, the night's quiet craftsman, wove a tapestry of precision and poise, striking for 15 points, hot from beyond the arc with three long-range daggers. Around him swirled a band of brothers in perfect harmony - Jamarcus Powell adding 13, Rico Sain II poured in 11, and Lane Lauderbaugh chipping in 10 as the Lion's balance became their beauty. For Oakwood, Jordan Bell fought the fading light with the leading scoring performance for both teams, fighting for all 20 of his points against a stifling Lion's defense. Yet, as the horn tolled the night's end, it was Freed-Hardeman standing in the victors circle. An orchestra of effort, every note struck true. This was not a tale of a single hero, but of a chorus united in purpose, each man's hand lifting the other toward victory. And so the curtain rises on a new season, the the Lion's roar echoing into autumn's golden air, a promise of battles yet to come.
